Sweater weather // Updates on life

This particular outfit is actually the part two of the shoot I had with orsqr. (if you haven't read it yet you can click here

The sweater is bought by Orsqr's mom and the moment he pulled it out of his bag, I must say I was in love with it. The black and gold details. Classic. The print is pretty loud which I adore but it is still classy at the same time.

...

It is already halfway into the two-month term break and I wondered to myself, how much have I achieved so far? Just earlier this week, I was set up with an interview with Charles & Keith but unfortunately they decided not to consider me further. I also just sent in my resume to Wing Tai Asia earlier today and I really hope they consider me! fingers crossed. So currently, I'm still in the midst of looking for a job(so if you have any, hit me up!).

Earlier this week, I attended Bernice's parents' wedding dinner and it was fantastic. The food was amazing and the whole atmosphere was amazing. It was just such a pity there wasn't enough time for me to snap an outfit of the night. Something really exciting for me that night was also that Amanda wore her first pair of heels ever! I personally am a high-heels lover so I just love it when my friends wear heels with me! and yes I did wear a pair of 4.5inches heel to the wedding dinner.

Until next time, xx

The Substation x Peranakan Museum // OOTD

 Photos by xsharmine

The Substation is having the Sept Fest and I decided to go take a look. Saw Sharmine's tweet about asking people to hang out and I practically jumped on that cause I have never properly hung out with her before. It was a great time hanging out with her and when we were on our way home, a fashion platform spotted her for street style outfit and she got her photograph taken for that. That is pretty damn cool. Heh.

Unfortunately, we were only able to visit one gallery at the Substation because we went at the wrong time! So it was a little disappointing but the works were still amazing nonetheless.

We were in the gallery for only about 10 minutes before we were done and the Peranakan Museum is just right beside so we thought, why not? Since we were in the mood for museum tours.

the interior is AMAZING

This particular one interests me the most because I just love looking at batik designs

I personally really like the tour at the peranakan museum a lot more than the substation. More so because they were having this exhibition called Auspicious Designs, where they showcased many different altar cloths and also batik pieces. While I was looking at the different altar cloths, I realised how detailed and delicate the designs were.

Not to forget, my outfit for that day. I paired this blue checkered button down with a pair of blue shorts(paisley printed, of course). I have been clashing prints a lot lately and I'm not complaining, that's for sure, heh.
Top - Dad's, Bottom - Thrifted, Neck piece - Topshop, Arm candy - Bonia, Bag - Punk Candy

Do you like to clash prints in your outfit? I know I do!

until next time, xoxo

Outfit: of stripes

Found some time last week to hang out with Leona and of course did some productive things such as taking this particular outfit. My mom recently dug through her old clothes and she found this pair of brand new black & white striped bottom which she decided to give it to me. I was stoked to style it and wore it out the day after she gave me.

Lately, I have seen that the leggings in shorts trend has been quite prominent and I myself really liked the look of that so I decided to pair with it with my trusty black opaque leggings. Planning my outfit around this pair of striped pants, monochrome is the way to go.

Top - TEMT, Bottom - pass down from mom, Chain Necklace - Forever21, Shoes - YRU, Bag - New Look

Hope you guys like this outfit and I will be coming up with another blog post soon about my trip to the museum, so stay tuned!

Until next time, xoxo

Day Made(PART II): Singapore Night Festival

Taken at the Singapore National Museum
It has been almost a week since the Singapore Night Festival and here I sit, thinking about the whole experience. I have heard of the festival last year as well but I didn't make it because I didn't have anyone to go with but this year I'm glad I did.

Met up with a couple of friends before we went. The week before the one I went for the SNF, my group of friends have already been to the activities at the Singapore Art Museum. Seeing that the sky is still bright(mostly because I haven't been to the SAM one) I suggested we go to SAM to go take a look and also go find Amanda, which I have mentioned in the pervious day made post that she will be there selling hand made stickers with the Band of Doodlers!

Kira was talking about this head gear or mask making workshop at the SAM as we walked in and we decided to give it a go. It was actually for like young kids but who cares. I'm young at heart.

SAM workshop

Basically there was already a template we can follow to make this mask. I must say, I am not the most artistic person but I thought it was a really fun time meddling around with sequins, glitter and some feathers.

Night Market @ Queen Street

Look at all the fabulous hand crafted art pieces at the booth!!!! It's difficult not to get awestruck at how detailed the designs were.

I'll just put all the photos for the rest of the night below and basically it's my first ever experience at the SG Night Fest. There will be a short clip of the amazing Earth Harp performance by William Close, so just read till the end!

So here goes:

The amount of people at the museum was really crazy as you can see here! And there's the cute Bao Cai posing for a photo.

The amount of people at the SG National Museum was crazy! Don't know why I really wanted to get that across but yeah.

This photograph speaks to me so much

Bao Cai and I thought that this boy was extremely cute in the fireman outfit so decided to get a photograph. (funny story behind this photo: the little boy's father actually told him to say thank you to me but he said, "say thank you to jie jie(big sister in mandarin)") I honestly don't know what to think of that but well not that big of a deal to me anyways.

Tired me posing and trying to be artsy

Met this new friend Bao Cai and a selfie with him is a must!

This was one of the outdoor art pieces I saw and how cool is this?! These trees are way cooler because they are actually kind of like an optical illusion. If you look at the face at different angles from the tree, you get different faces! When my friends and I squatted down to take a look we realised that all these trees were faces of Buddha.

The really cool drummer and well, I always have a soft spot for guys who play music....

This is the short clip of the Earth Harp perfomance by William Close. He invented the Earth Harp (it's basically like a giant harp made using the surrounding architectures, it's pretty damn cool) and the reason why it is called the Earth Harp was because the first time he ever installed the instrument, he installed the strings to a valley hence the name Earth Harp.

That's all for now and I'm sorry for keeping you guys waiting for so long!
Till next time, xoxo

Outfit post: Monochromatic Aztec prints

Hello there, September and I'm back with an outfit post and this was what I wore to the Singapore Night Festival 2014!

Top - H&M, Bottom - Carousell, Leather Jacket & Bag - Pull & Bear

While I was sorting out my wardrobe, I found this Aztec printed button down I bought from H&M a while ago and it's perfect because I love mixing prints! I like how the Aztec on the top is not overpowered by the subtle print of marble on the pants. Tying the leather jacket around my waist really gave me a more pleasant silhouette and I mean, wearing the leather jacket on hot sunny day is definitely a killer(but i still do it anyways, talking about crazy HAHA).

How do you guys like to style your Aztec printed pieces?

Until next time,
xoxo
